Steel Sections and Hollow Sections

Steel hollow and open sections for subframes, supports and fabricated assemblies, sourced by section type, dimensions, wall thickness, grade, finish and length.

Hollow sections — RHS, SHS and CHS — and open sections are the bones of many secondary frames. A quotation needs the section type, the outer dimensions, the wall thickness, the steel grade if named, the finish, the length and the number of bars. Those fields are how mills and stockholders identify an item. A photo of a similar tube is not a substitute.

Finish is not cosmetic. Black, primed and galvanised sections are different supply routes and different site sequences. If the steel will sit in a façade cavity or an external support, say so. We do not select the corrosion-protection system; we source the finish that is written, or we state the finish we can offer.

Length may be mill standard or cut. Cut lengths reduce waste on a jig but can extend lead time. If the workshop will weld, drill or galvanise after delivery, mention it only as context — we supply the section, we do not fabricate the frame.

Related pipes, tubes and fixings can be listed on the same enquiry when they belong to one assembly. Documentation such as mill certificates is provided where the supplying mill or stockholder issues them for that batch. Availability is subject to enquiry; this page is not a stock list.

Sourcing and documentation

Sourced by type, size, wall, grade, finish and length. Mill certificates follow the batch when the supplier issues them. Final suitability depends on the project specification, substrate, exposure and system design.
